| BRIEF HISTORY |
| Confedilizia is an indirect-membership association re-established in 1945 to comprise all the territorial associations of home owners, as the direct heir (after the end of the corporative system) of a home owners association established in 1883. |
| PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES |
Lobbying. Confedilizia’s institutional duty is the representation of the categories of property owners and investors in their relations with Government and Parliament on problems concerning the real estate sector.
Matters of direct interest to Confedilizia:
• Legislation concerning building production, urban transformation and renewal processes, property maintenance and management, transfers and rents, tax treatment of real estate, funding and savings flows directed to the real estate sector.
• Policy on access to a first home, and the defence of family savings as guaranteed by the Constitution.
• Laws on the renting of property intended for residential use or for commercial, handicraft, or industrial uses.
• Tax treatment of real estate property, as both direct and indirect taxation, on income and transfers.
• The promotion of new forms of allocation of family savings in the building sector (real estate investment trusts, time-share ownership, other forms of investment).
• Legislation on joint ownership, with particular attention to the need for an updating of the laws in force, adjusting them to a situation which has undergone radical economic and social changes and innovations.
Members’ services. Confedilizia is a signatory to the national collective labour contracts for employees of building owners as well as, through ASSINDATCOLF, to the national collective labour contract for domestic help.
Confedilizia is regularly consulted by Government and by the Parliamentary Commissions of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, by the CNEL (National Council of Economy and Labour), and by regional and local government agencies.
Confedilizia has signed an agreement with the United States government (with a related standard contract) for rents concerning their servicemen stationed in Italy.
Collaboration and consultations take place with the ABI (Italian Banking Association) and the National Association of People’s Banks, as well as with Confecommercio, Confartigianato and Confagricoltura. Confedilizia also collaborates with ANACAM (National Association of Elevator Construction and Maintenance Firms), ANIP (National Association of Cleaning Firms), ASSOUTENTI (Association of Public Utility Users), AUSITRA (Italian Federation of Service Enterprises), ANIEM (National Association of Small and Medium-sized Building Contractors), and the Italian Banking Network.
Confedilizia collaborates with ASSOCAMERESTERO (the association of Italian Chambers of Commerce abroad) to enable Italian citizens abroad to obtain information and advice from Confedilizia, through the chambers abroad, on real estate matters in Italy. |
