The Real Estate Council of the Netherlands – Raad voor Onroerende Zaken (ROZ) joins the European Property Federation

Henk  Hilverink,  Chairman  of  the  Board  of  ROZ  and  John  Frederiksen,  President  of  EPF  announced  that  the  ROZ  has  joined  the  EPF,  effective  immediately.

Henk  Hilverink  said,

ROZ  was  a  founding  member  of  EPF  in  1997,  and  it  is  a  true  pleasure  to  be  a  part  again  of  the  EU  lobby  for  all  property  interests  at  a  time  when  EU  legislation  is  becoming  more  and  more  important  for  real  estate,  be  it  for  environmental  and  energy  efficiency  policy,  European  control  of  the  financial  and  real  estate  markets,  or  state  aid.  EPF  has  a  tremendous  record  of  achievement  in  all  these  fields,  and  we  are  eager  to  quickly  retrieve  the  role  that  we  previously  had  in  contributing  to  set  and  carry  out  EPF  policy.

John  Frederiksen  said,

It  is  hard  to  overestimate  the  importance  of  Dutch  real  estate  in  Europe.  It  is  transformational  for  EPF  to  have  the  ROZ  as  a  member,  especially  since  ROZ  now  truly  represents  all  organised  Dutch  real  estate  interests  through  its  eleven  member  associations.  EPF’s  asset  base,  already  over  €  1  trillion,  will  be  a  lot  bigger,  and  its  capacity  to  advise  the  EU  authorities  will  be  greatly  enhanced  by  ROZ  expertise.  We  are  particularly  pleased  to  welcome  Aart  Hordijk,  Managing  Director  of  ROZ,  back  to  the  EPF  Managing  Committee  on  which  he  previously  served  with  such  distinction.

Brussels  and  The  Hague,  23  June  2010
